I've always had problems with swimming.  I don't mean that I can't swim well, for I am pretty good at it, but for some weird reason, after ten minutes of treading water, I lose my energy and have to hold on to something for support.  Does that ever happen to you?  It is interesting how my friends aren't even tired, and i'm exhausted!  I actually think it is because I'm not breathing right.  I remember playing tag with my friends, but I could never get them (well, I got them a couple of times) because I was always too tired and would have to rest. Something is wrong with me!

Ha ha... playing tag was fun--I totally crashed your Summer gym class. Moo ha ha. Yeah, that was absolutely wicked--I hadn't really seen anyone all Summer long.

As for the energy thing--it's because you're short. Just kidding--duh. How long can you hold your breath for? That could account for how long you can swim.

When we were playing taig, one of the tricks I used when the waves were off was staying at the bottom of the deep end--I could stay down there for about thirty to sixty seconds, coming up for no longer than fifteen seconds at a time.

It could very possibly be a breathing thing--you're not taking a breath with every stroke, are you? You should breath every other stroke, keeping your inhaling to one side and exhaling to the other.

Well, hopefully that helped, if not--sorry! I don't really know all that much about the science of swimming...

Maybe you have allergies or asthma, either of which could prevent you from getting the oxygen you need to keep the muscles movin'. As a tennis pro, you ought to be in pretty good shape, but tennis is a lot of start and stop motion, whereas things that require more extended periods of exertion (swimming, running, etc.) may indeed require a greater lung capacity and/or a more effective breathing method.

I have allergies, but I am almost one hundred percent positive that they are not causing the problem. I think that it is just how I am breathing. And it is not because I am not fit either. Tennis is definitely short term endurance, whereas swimming is long term, so that could be the problem as well.
